Alinisikia nikiimba wimbo wa Siti Gandura, unaitwa ‘Alamindura’, Bwana Mahmoud akauliza “Nani mwenye sauti hiyo yenye lafdhi na mahadhi ya kuvutia? Nataka nimjue”

“Bwana Mahmoud akatuma tarishi, kabeba susu limejaa kila kitu kizuri. Vyakula; doti za kanga; asumini; na pesa.
Usiku akaja mshenga kuniambia “Bwana Mahmoud amekupenda. Anataka kukizawij (kukuoa)”.
Ndivyo iliyokuwa zamani. Kaleta mshenga na posa kabla hajaniona”.

▪︎ “nikaolewa na Bwana Mahmoud. Wallah, furaha iliyoje? ndiye alienipeleka Zanzibar. Nikakutana na Siti bint Saad”

    An interesting read indeed. Thak you Leilah for sharing. Truth be told, I never knew she sang Taarab too. The love life of yesterday years was very interesting and respectful too.

    Yes,
    Titi Mohamed was a woman of many facets.
    Most people in Tanzania know of her as an activist for Uhuru.
    There is another aspect to her, the artiste.
